Service Description

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient's own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured or torn tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. PRP injections are prepared by taking anywhere from one to a few tubes of your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into injured or damaged body tissue to cause stem cells and the immune system to release growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of repair cells your own body produces naturally. Main indication of PRP is torn/injured ligaments, tendons and cartilage. Ultrasound imaging is used to guide the injections. **PRP’s regenerative properties can also be used for the treatment of scars, minimizing pores, fine wrinkles, volume loss, hair loss (or re-growth), and skin rejuvenation.
